Vision and Objectives of Department

The Department of Community Halls and Libraries endeavours to provide a sustainable, equitable, efficient, and cost-effective variety of services to all communities and businesses by effective management of all community facilities, including Municipal halls, the Thusong Service Centre, Sports facilities, libraries, swimming pools and Youth development.

Swimming Pools

The following are performed as core functions:

Managing and operating Swimming Pools
Maintenance of the Swimming Pools
Handling reservations and tariffs;
Ensure the execution of Council’s Policy on Facilities
Access control
Client services and communication with the users and public

Sport Facilities and Development

Langeberg Municipality has ten Multi Purpose Sports Facilities. Robertson (3), McGregor (1), Ashton (2), Zolani (2) Bonnievale (1), Montagu (1)

Responsible to ensure that all Langeberg sports facilities are fully utilised and well maintained to acceptable standards.
Initiate and facilitate Sport Development
Managing Sport Facility Maintenance
Facilitating Sport Administration
Initiating Partnerships for Sports Management
Identifying and including Stakeholders in sports management
Initiating, developing and facilitating Programmes
