Due to recent flooding, the Breede River Pumpstation remains out of operation. The Electrical Department is working diligently to reinstate the electrical supply, with restoration expected by the end of this week.
Currently, Ashton’s water is being supplied from the Ashton Storage Dam (30% capacity), with limited supply from the CBR Pumpstation and the Zandvliet Canal Pumpstation. Based on current levels, there is only approximately 10 days of water supply available.
Further work is required at the Breede River Pumpstation to ensure a sustainable supply to the Water Treatment Works (WTW).
Residents are urgently requested to use water extremely sparingly until the supply to the WTW has returned to normal.
