Calling candidates from Zolani, Ashbury and Mandela square in Montagu to join the Township Arts Development Project as Craft Developer, Mural Art Developer and Tour Guides.

 

 

The township art route development programme Zolani Ashbury and Mandela square (Montagu)

 

The township Arts Development Programme is an initiative of the Langeberg Municipality to develop artistic capacity in townships, to unlock tourism opportunities in these neighborhoods.

 

The second phase of the Township Arts Development Programme is due be implemented in Zolani

 

Ashbury and Mandela Square.

 

 

This is a project that is done in collaboration with the National Department of Public Works

 

The Township Arts Development Programme consists of three components i.e.

 

  1. 1.       Craft Development
  2. 2.       Mural Art Development
  3. 3.       Tour Guide training and Township history data collection through surveys

 

The municipality seeks candidates to join the programme to be trained in the art components mentioned above.

 

Eligible candidates must have artist flair and some in depth knowledge of the component they wish to apply for.

 

 

The Municipality thus invites suitably inclined candidates to submit a short profile of themselves detailing their involvement in the specific genre they wish to apply for.

 

The artists will be asked to submit pieces of their current as part of the evaluation

 

Evaluation will done by a service provider that has experience each the genres.

 

 

Interested parties must submit their profiles in the nearest municipal office in a box marked

 

Township arts development programme clearly specifying which of the three components is applied for.

 

Preference will be given to youth women and disabled candidates
